Golden Road to Sponsor Echo Park Rising 2014

Golden Road Brewing to sponsor the Echo Park Rising music festival Aug. 15-17

Let's flash back to a year ago -- to the last Echo Park Rising festival. I (Franny), along with our Market Manager Omar and our graphic designer Asif spent a great day meandering through all of the venues participating in that weekend's totally free and totally awesome music fest. I distinctly remember a recurring sentiment from that day: "Wouldn't it be awesome if Golden Road was involved in this?!?"

Flash Forward to today, when we can officially (and very enthusiastically) announce that Golden Road will be a proud sponsor of this year's Echo Park Rising happening all over Echo Park on August 15-17. This has been a project that our entire team has had a hand in; from marketing to public relations, sales, social media, and beyond. We are big proponents to local events, culture, and music and we thought "what better way than to serve local beer, too?"

For the uninitiated, Echo Park Rising takes place at multiple venues over three days including The Echo, TAIX, and Lot 1 Cafe. A complete list of participants can be found here. Golden Road will be the official beer of EPR and will be featured in their outdoor beer garden as well as inside TAIX's 321 Lounge which will be named 329 Lounge for the weekend!

But beer aside, EPR is all about the music. This year's lineup is bigger and better than ever and we cannot wait to boogie down to up-and-coming locals like Allah-Las, Together Pangea, and Wide Streets. Check out the full lineup here and stay tuned for some of our staff picks!

For a wider selection of Golden Road brews, visit our sister company Mohawk Bend where you can meet a few members of our team. They will be hosting live music during brunch hours from 9:30am-3pm on Saturday, Aug. 16.

Get Involved | Help us Heal the Bay this summer

Members of our team met up with our friends at Heal the Bay for a belated Earth Day celebration on April 26th at Santa Monica Beach. This was a special day for us as it was also the official launch of our summer seasonal Custom IPA, Heal the Bay IPA. After a couple hours of combing the sand for objects hazardous to the environment and marine life, we set sail for a mini pub crawl to neighboring Santa Monica-area bars who have committed to helping us with our project.

This first event was just the beginning of what will be a series of clean-ups our team participates in all summer long. Our next big event will be on June 28th where we'll meet up at Will Rogers State Beach in the Pacific Palisades. After the clean-up, we implore you to join us at Whole Foods Market in Venice for a clean-up after-party featuring our Heal the Bay IPA. A portion of proceeds from all Heal the Bay IPA sales will benefit the cause. Click here for full clean-up details and check out photos from Earth Day snapped by our very good friend Bernie Wire of Friends of Local Beer

Not available on 6/28? We'll also be pulling our team together to clean up Manhattan Beach on July 19th! Visit to find out how you can get more involved and help us raise funds and awareness for this great eco-friendly cause by drinking Heal the Bay IPA!

Welcome Back: Heal the Bay IPA

The season for our beloved Heal the Bay IPA returns! Heal the Bay IPA first made waves last summer as the third in our series of Custom IPAs; bringing awareness and raising funds for its eponymous Santa Monica, CA-based non-profit. Met with critical acclaim, Heal the Bay IPA is the ideal summer IPA -- light-to-medium in body and bursting with bright, tropical, and citrus notes.

At 6.8% abv., Heal the Bay IPA joins our lineup of hoppy India Pale Ales as a balanced and quaff-able tribute to southern hemisphere and west-coast hop varietals. A harmonious amalgamation of Nelson Sauvin, Motueka, Citra, Centennial, and El Dorado brings juicy fruits forward with a structured malt backbone. Heal the Bay IPA will make a believer out of the most resistant of hop-lovers and will surely be one of our poolside brews all summer long.

Heal the Bay IPA returns to The Pub at Golden Road today, April 24th at 5pm on draught and growler fill before it rolls out to draught accounts across the southland. We implore you to join us on Saturday, April 26th in Santa Monica for Heal the Bay's Earth Day Celebration where members of our team will help tidy up the Santa Monica Bay. We will then make our way to the following restaurants who will be tapping the very first kegs of Heal the Bay:

The Lobster | 1602 Ocean Ave.
Big Dean's Ocean Front Cafe | 1615 Ocean Front Walk
The Albright | 258 Santa Monica Pier
Ristorante Al Mare | 250 Santa Monica Pier
Del Frisco's Grille | 1551 Ocean Ave.
Loews Hotel Santa Monica | 1700 Ocean Ave.

Four-pack cans of Heal the Bay IPA will hit retailers in Early May featuring our new 100% recycled chip-board packaging design; the latest in our effort to increase eco-awareness and sustainability in our business practices. Heal the Bay IPA will retail at $11.99/ 4-pk with a portion of proceeds benefiting Heal The Bay. Additionally, $1 from every pint sold at our Pub will also go towards the cause. For more information on how to get involved with Heal the Bay, visit their website:

Stay tuned all summer long for more details on how Golden Road plans to help Heal the Bay!
