We are more than a little excited to announce the release of our first sour-style beer. Tomorrow we will be tapping our limited supply of our brand new Golden Road Berliner Weisse.
For those unfamiliar with the style, it’s a delicate, light and tart wheat beer that’s wayyyyy refreshing on hotter days … or any day, really. It could be all to easy to drink this for extended periods of time while sitting on a porch … maybe even a porch located at 5410 W. San Fernando Rd. in Los Angeles.
This very drinkable brew clocks in at about 2.7% ABV, making it super-extra sessionable. We’re fond of tarts and sours, but if your palate isn’t ready to pucker up much yet, you may favor adding the traditional green woodruff or red raspberry-flavored syrups to sweeten things up. For the record, the syrups have way awesomer German names so be a German and ask for Golden Road Berliner Weisse with a little Himbeersirup (raspberry) or Waldmeistersirup (woodruff).
Our friends at Bear Republic explain this style very well when they talk about their Berliner Weisse, Tartare (one of our faves, too).
We will be releasing Golden Road Berliner Weisse tomorrow during our big American Craft Beer Week Tap Take-Back. Come to The Pub at Golden Road to enjoy the most GRB beers on tap in one place, EVER. In the spirit of American Craft Beer Week, the lovely Acacia Coast, State Brewers Association Coordinator at the BA, will be gracing our pub to sign the Declaration of Beer Independence with Meg, the GRB team, and our darling patrons.
In addition to having some of our favorite brews on tap, we are celebrating the pub debut of B3 (Bourbon Barrel Brown), the return of a teeny weeny supply of Valentin, our collaborative brew with Hangar 24, and a repeat performance of our dear El Hefe Añejo. Even Burning Bush Smoked IPA will be make an appearance. Jon hand-bottled a little of this for posterity, and he’s pulled out one bottle to raffle off to a fan.
